How we “Office” right now by Jill Sharp Brinson

Loving how your workspace looks is just as important as how it works. The better it looks, the more you’ll want to use it, right? Every work station needs a desk, a chair and lighting. Here are a few simple tricks I use to make an office feel less like work and more like a place you really want to be.

Table it.Use a table as your desk. I’m talking a dining table from any style camp. The large work surface lets you really spread out and think big (and look good while you’re doing it).

Calling all chairs. If you love it, use it. Pull up a bench, pull up a slatted garden chair. Got a wicker Chinese Chippendale? Even better! Slam it all together.

Light it up. Try an oversized fixture hung low with a really big swooping floor lamp and a pair of table lamps in your work space to make it feel decidedly “non-office.” You’ll love it.

Below are three easy office set-ups using Ballard tables, chairs and lighting to help inspire you.

Where are the cords to the lamps? Don’t they have to plug in, or are they battery operated? Not a very practical set up if you really want to use them.

No cobwebs in these clean, creative workspaces!
Beautiful places to work hard and think quietly.
I’m looking for somewhere to hang that very smart rope wrapped chandelier.
