It all started with a pool. After Karen Mooney, VP of Creative for Ballard Designs, and her husband Joe, who entertain often, installed a pool in their backyard two years ago, they quickly realized they needed easier access to it. “We had no way to get to the pool except to go through our master bedroom and bathroom,” she says. “Needless to say, it was a little uncomfortable for our guests.”

I bought the counter bar stools online. I was looking for something unique and just the right colors to go with my other kitchen colors, countertops, lighting fixtures and cabinets. My daughter and I found these in your catalog. They are perfect for the space.

How To Decorate A Breakfast Nook

Dear Style Studio Team,

I am not sure how to decorate this breakfast nook area.

Kelly,

You have a great area, all it needs is a bit of personality. We have pulled together a few recommendations that we think will make the space a showstopper.

Your table appears to float in the space so we suggest adding a rug.

Our Bermuda Rug in a Mocha color would be stunning because of its fabulous color and scale.

Repeat the sophisticated rug color on your wall by hanging our Peacock Tree Giclee behind the table.

Next to the Giclee, we recommend placing a Grand Tour Etagere in black to add height and extra storage.

The double window at the end of the space would look perfect with drapery panels framing it … try our Bingham Printed Damask Panels in Tuscan Gold.

We suggest anchoring your window with a Jasmine Storage Bench in Danish Linen Honey. Not only does this unsung little hero provide seating, it opens to reveal a storage area.

Everyone can use a little extra storage, especially when it is so beautiful!

Happy Decorating!
