In our Feature Friday series, we’ll be highlighting the homes of some of our favorite bloggers and designers. We love the way they’ve used our products in their spaces, so we thought we’d bring these bright ideas to you!
As the old saying goes, you only have one chance to make a first impression, and that’s why we think it’s important to add some finishing touches to your front door. It doesn’t take a lot, but a nice welcome mat, some greenery, and a wreath on the door can make a world of difference. And give your guests and neighbors a hint to the fabulously stylish space you’ve created on the inside. Here are our picks for creating a front door for late summer and early Fall:
Every year, we look forward to the unveiling of the Southern Living Idea House, and this one was no exception. Of course we were delighted to see our outdoor furniture on the porch and patio, so we sat down with Margaret Kirkland to hear all about her inspiration for the space. She used pieces from Suzanne Kasler’s Directoire Collection, as well as our Sunday Porch Swing. In the video above she shares her inspiration!
You know what we love about a classic room? No matter what the current trends are or what season it is, you can always give it a few fresh updates without having to reinvent the wheel. That’s what we were envisioning when we designed this living room for our Summer 2016 catalog. A neutral foundation, like our Davenport Sofa and Toulon Chair and Ottoman, is the perfect backdrop for fresh shades of coral and persimmon, art and a statement-making chandelier.
Deciding on layouts and floor plans is one of the most common questions we get here on How to Decorate, and we totally understand! With so many different furniture options, it can feel overwhelmingly to work lots of seating into your outdoor space without crowding up your whole yard. That’s why we like to use clever ideas to add more seating, without taking up tons of space. Here are our best ideas for versatile adding seating to your outdoor room:
To day we’re digging this bedroom would be a huge understatement. We wanted to show you how to get a beachy look in your bedroom (cause who doesn’t want to feel like they’re on vacation when it’s actually just Monday?), so we designed and styled this casual, bohemian space just for How to Decorate. The whole room was inspired by our new Milos Bedding in Indigo. It has a gorgeous Shibori pattern on it (Shibori is a Japanese dye method that’s a little reminiscent of tie-dying) which feels cool, casual, and a bit like you could be on vacation in a surf town!
When we launched our Amalfi Outdoor Collection 10 years ago, little did we know it would become our best-selling outdoor collection of all time. But, as they say, true beauty transcends time. The classic proportions and timeless style of each piece — from poolside loungers to patio sectionals to dining sets — have made our meticulously crafted collection a customer favorite through the years.
