Plain and simple: your bedroom should make you feel like a queen! It’s that place where you can be utterly yourself and even indulge — in that extra 10 minutes of sleep or with your extravagant lotion and skincare routine. Or whatever it is that makes you feel pampered! And is there anything more luxurious and regal than a canopy bed? We think not. But even if you aren’t in the market for a new bed, there are some ways you can create that lovely, luxurious cocoon feel.

Introducing Our Helena Bedroom Collection

By |Bedrooms, Decorating, Furniture, Tips & Solutions|0 Comments

Helena Bedroom collection from Ballard Designs

Great style is constantly evolving and changing. That’s what makes what we do so much fun. We find joy in building on the looks we love — or reinventing them. The trick is staying open to those possibilities.

As you well know, we love Louis, and our Louis Bed has been a favorite for a long time. Recently, though, we started thinking about the evolution of Louis. What if we took the things we love about this bed and redefined them for a more pared down, yet equally elegant, look? Our design senses immediately started tingling. And this is how our Helena Bedroom Collection was born.

Get the Look: Bedroom in Spa

By |Bedrooms, Decorating, Get the Look, Tips & Solutions|0 Comments

We're showing you how to get the look of this peaceful, spa-like bedroom in blue

Bedrooms are a place for recuperating and healing — a place free of distractions where you can be at peace. That’s why we love having a really polished by clean space, and for us, nothing quite achieves that pretty, peaceful feel more than the color blue, especially our signature spa blue. We chose a gorgeous wall color (Lookout Point by Benjamin Moore) to complement our Jardin Toile Quilted and Gwyneth Bedding Collections. We brought an exclamation point into this classic room with our plush Reynolds Bench with Brass Nailheads and the most luxurious Deep Teal Velvet.

Spring Color Palette: Spa & Cream Bedroom

Spa and cream bedroom color palette

First and foremost, we believe a bedroom should be relaxing. This should be a space where you retreat, relax, and recover, so it’s important to make design choices that will help you achieve that relaxing feeling. For some people, that may mean a bright and cheery hue they love. Others, it may mean all white. For us, we just still can’t shake our love of spa. The perfect combination of gray, green, and blue, spa is our perfect color, so when designing the ultimate bedroom retreat, it was a no brainer.

For this bedroom, we put a slightly more modern twist on the space by using clean-lined furniture pieces (our Isabella Collection). We also stayed true to our color palette — everything is in either spa, cream, or a weathered wood finish. Having everything coordinate so perfectly makes the space feel serene and polished, perfect for when you want to relax.

A pair of our Mariette Table Lamps coordinate beautifully with this bedroom because of its simple but sculptural shape. This column shape has a more modern feel, which we really dig for this bedroom. For the overhead lighting, we used a Carriage House Chandelier in our Antique Silver finish. We love the way the shape of this chandelier echoes the trim pattern on our Isabella Collection.

For the final flourishes, we hung a pair of Memories Found Art over the bed. They work with our spa and cream color palette, and the silver frames complement our chandelier. And no room is complete without a couple of throw pillows. Here we used Savannah Burlap throw pillows in mineral.

Winter Color Palette: Spa & Snow

By |Bedrooms, Decorating, Get the Look|0 Comments

Winter color palette of spa and creams

While creamy whites and watery blues may seem like a color palette for the Spring and Summer months, we love the way this look echoes the blankets of snow and cloudy days of winter too! Plus, a room like this helps to remind you that warm days will indeed will return.
