Feature Friday: Julie Blanner’s Breakfast Nook

In our Feature Friday series, we’ll be highlighting the homes of some of our favorite bloggers and designers. We love the way they’ve used our products in their spaces, so we thought we’d bring these bright ideas to you!

If you are looking for a bit of French Country inspiration for your home, look no further than Julie Blanner’s breakfast nook. Julie shares effortless do-it-yourself styling tips on her lifestyle blog. She spent years of her professional career in the event-planning industry and eventually decided to switch gears and give us all a glimpse into her signature style.

For Julie, this particular area serves as an important gathering space for her family. The day begins with her daughters sharing laughs over breakfast and then the day comes to a close with the whole family winding down with stories and board games.

When they moved into their home, the area seemed to be an after-thought for the previous owner. New wood flooring, some unexpected roofing fixes, and TLC transformed this space into a warm and inviting breakfast nook of Julie’s dreams!

Julie came across a photo for inspiration which included earthy tones and an oversized cow painting. She met Ballard’s very own Mango The Cow canvas and fell fast.

Julie quickly found the essentials for her nook: a trestle table and various antique chairs, similar to our Constance Wood Chairs, on top of our Kashan Hand Tufted Rug. The space instantly brought an air of relaxation to the Julie’s home.

The necessities were in place and the finishing touches were all that remained of the breakfast nook check-list. Shadow box trim added sophistication, platters were a decorative accent that are removable when you need to use them for entertaining, and a lemon tree gives the room fresh fragrance!

Julie used our Addison Tray Table as an accent piece for the transition between the nook and the kitchen. This table is a perfect addition as it is easy to move and works as a bar cart while entertaining. The table top can be lifted and used as a tray for serving!

The final result is a warm and cozy nook that brings Julie and her family (and Mango) together every day!

Hi. I just called customer service and they suggested I leave a comment here. I would like to order a kitchen table and chairs along with counter stools. I have a new kitchen and I am having difficultly figuring out what combination works with the kitchen. I do not have a store near me. I am hoping someone could look at pictures and make some suggestions.
