Birch tree wallpaper in a home office

Wallpaper has the ability to completely transform a room, and we love the way it can make any room (even something as mundane as a laundry room or office) feel special. Read our ode to wallpapers and why you need at least one in your home:

Once upon a time, wallpapers brought to mind your grandmother’s dining room, calico prints, and coordinating borders at the moulding or chair rail, but we swear, wallpaper has entered the modern era. They’re a great way to bring fun pattern, color, and texture into a space, and with so many options out there, you’re certain to find at least one that you love!

1. Birch Bark Home Office

Take this home office for example, a textured birch wallpaper feels fresh and surprising. With a subtle texture and neutral color palette, it’s a unexpected backdrop for the classic lines of our Verona Home Office Collection and the tiled pattern of our Tabitha Rug.

Every room needs a few natural elements to help balance sleek furniture finishes and glittering lighting, why not use a wallpaper with a bark texture?

2. Animal Print Accent

You know we love our Dodie Print fabric, so is it any surprise that we’re equally enthusiastic about our Dodie Print Wallpaper? It’s a graphic print that feels both modern and classic, and it works with nearly any color palette.

Dodie spices up even the dreariest rooms, like the laundry room? Who’s really dying to spend time in workspace that in most homes feels so utilitarian? A little wallpaper can turn things around, we swear. A few storage pieces and a printed paper feel interesting and inviting!

3. Toile in a Dining Room

Toile is a classic print that you’ve seen on wallpapers for decades, but there’s something about the new oversize patterns and bold colors that gives them a new lease on life. It’s wearing your grandmother’s vintage pocket book with a great pair of jeans and your favorite heels.

In this space, we used a lacquered Louis chair in a luxe velvet with our Newport Demilune. A pair of these on either side of the window is simply classic!

4. Paper the Hallway

Hallways can feel so drab since they’re often too narrow for furniture and without windows or great lighting. As a solution, we wallpapered this hallway with a subtle trellis print that complements the dining room beyond. It gives the hallway personality and lightness!

You know we love stripes — rugs, fabrics, art, and even lampshades. We dig them, so it should come as no surprise that we love a wallpaper too! Stripes work well in so many different rooms because they’re bold but very clean. The linear pattern makes rooms feel larger, and they’re simple enough not to compete with patterned upholstery or rugs.
