Hello,

I would like some help decorating my bare, narrow foyer.

Thanks,

Dear Linda,

Thank you for your decorating dilemma. Your entryway/hallway is a perfect clean slate, and we know that with a few additions, it will be a welcoming passage into your home.

Let’s begin with the floor and work our way up. Both the entry and the hallway could use an area rug to ground the space. We recommend a 3×5 for the front door and a runner (2×8) for the hallway. Something like our Chunky Sisal Rug in mocha would be perfect for this space. It has a latex backing so you won’t need a rug pad to keep it in place.

Since the hallway is so narrow, we recommend using a narrow console like our Castellon Console which is only 9 inches deep. It will allow you to place a small “catch all” tray to place keys, a leash, extra mail etc.  Replacing the wall sconce with a muted fixture that sits closer to the wall will prevent the lighting from being obstructive in the narrow space. Our Stella Wall sconce measuring at 8” deep would be perfect for the wall.  On the left of the sconce, our Heines Botanical prints would be a beautiful addition as well. To the right of the sconce at the base of the stairs, we suggest our Bellesol Mirror to open up the space.

By the front door, a Rubber Boot Tray would allow for guests to slip off their shoes and have a place to house them neatly.

Remember to send some pictures when you complete your look!
