Dear Style Studio,

I have a Ballard butter twill sofa and Tamerlane Taupe chair. Carpet is an oatmeal color. Current wall color is lemon yellow. Accents are terracotta. Was thinking of painting the walls a grey, but did not want the room to look too subdued. Lighting is average in the room. What color would you suggest?

We think that painting your walls a warm gray color will place a calm feeling in your space and create a cohesive look. We suggest trying Sherwin Williams – Useful Gray SW7050 for a softer look or Gray Area SW7052 for a more pronounced hue. Always remember to paint a test area so that you can observe how the color looks with the changing light sources.
