Dear Style Studio team,

I am a new homeowner and am so excited! My new home features a large family room and a separate living room (which I envision being more formal). While I have plenty of furniture for the family room, I am starting from scratch on the living room! I LOVE Ballard Designs and am dying to start purchasing furniture, but need a little direction. I have attached photos of the before, after (post remodel) and floor plan of the home!

HELP ME (please)!

Elizabeth,

We are so thrilled that you enjoy Ballard Designs so much!  We are excited about your new space.  What fun that you are starting from scratch!!  We have created a floor plan for you and selected a good blend of Ballard pieces that will pull together a beautiful room.

Our Griffin Sofa covered in Danish Oatmeal is the anchor for your plan. Add a few pillows in Trilby Basket Weave Bark, Samara Spice and Queens Velvet Pumpkin.  We suggest placing your sofa on the Senneh Rug and then add a couple of Louis XV Salon Chairs in Samara Spice.  Try hanging our Burnt Sienna Giclee above your sofa.

Combining height and functionality in your space, we recommend adding the Wilton Etagere in one corner and the Louis XVI Armoir, in Distressed Gray over White, by the front door.  Speaking of your front door, we think using the Ananda Serving Table as you walk in the door, would provide a refreshing “welcome home” and give you a spot to keep keys.  Tuck the Amiel Arch Antiqued Mirror behind it to reflect the light through the space.

Adding a couple of side tables, coffee table and stylish lamps will comour new space and give you an area of retreat.

Happy Decorating!
