What Our Buyers Bought from Ballard

Our buyers are continuously shopping for up-to-the-minute pieces and searching out inspirational vintage finds. Given their spot-on expertise in identifying great looks and hot trends, we asked what Ballard items they have recently bought for themselves.

Rick, Linens and Drapes Buyer

Burlap Crewel Damask Panels

I bought these for Ballard because I really loved all the oversized damask patterns I was seeing printed on expensive linen and silk. I wanted to give our customers a similar look that was more affordable and had some texture to it. I bought them for me because, as a guy, finding great looking drapery panels that are not too feminine can be a challenge. These panels offer a great neutral palette, some texture and a bold pattern that won’t overtake my living room. And they don’t look “girly!”

Durham Bookcase

I just bought a new place and my open kitchen has very limited storage. I needed to store two large collections of dinnerware and glasses. I wasn’t ready to spend the money to custom build cabinets or launch into a remodel, so I decided I needed some great shelving. After a lot of searching, I realized the Durham Bookcase was a unique alternative. It offers a lot of shelving space in a slim profile, is sturdy enough to hold all my dinnerware and has a neutral color that works in my kitchen (again, not too feminine). An added bonus: once I remodel, it will look great in my living room or guest bedroom.

Eldridge Lighting

I absolutely fell in love with the Eldridge Pendant because it’s similar to the lighting used in Sid Mashburn, the effortlessly stylish gentleman’s clothing store here in Atlanta. It’s the perfect modern lighting to mix and match with traditional dark wood furniture and oriental rugs.

Bamboo Folding Chairs

I love these chairs—they’re a must-have for holiday parties and entertaining. They fold up for easy storage and add the right touch of understated sophistication. I’m always drawn to using accessories of natural materials in my home. I like the juxtaposition of natural texture next to my velvet sofa and my brass bar cart.

Brooklyn Floor Lamp

I see so many wonderful old lamps at the flea markets I shop, but most of the time they need work and rewiring, and I just don’t trust that they will work. The Brooklyn Floor Lamp has that old find feeling without the worries. I think the grill adds so much vintage character. Plus, it’s adjustable, and I can get the light right where I want it.

Marguerite Stools

I have kids, so I was looking for barstools that are both sturdy and casual. I love the contrast of the rustic metal frame mixed with the driftwood-toned aged finish. I feel like they just came out of an old European farmhouse.

Moulin Burlap Cube

This is so perfect for my tween daughter’s room who loves all things French. Instead of a bench, we placed two cubes at the foot of her bed. Now she has easy extra seating when her friends visit and a comfy place to try on all her shoes.
